Vanity URLs
Facebook gives you the opportunity to set up what is known as a 'vanity URL' for your page. When you first create a page, the address will look something like www.facebook.com/cafe-amsterdam/857469009383737?ref=ts. Rather than having a complex list of numbers, a vanity URL looks more like www.facebook.com/cafe-amsterdam. There are a couple of points to remember:
- You need 25 followers or more before you can update the URL
- Use a site like https://namechk.com/ to check whether your first choice is available across all social platforms before confirming it with any channel
- Once you have more than 200 followers or have changed your name previously on Facebook, it isn't possible to change it again without going through a lengthy and complicated process. Keep this in mind!
